Product Design
Objects designed to be used: a lamp, a desk, a smart bag and a few models and experiments along the way.
Opostos — Hourglass Lamp
A table lamp designed with Sabrina Saraiva and Rita Pereira around the idea of opposites, to be produced in the Vitae workshops. Shaped like an hourglass, it holds two push lights, one warm and one cold, switched on by hand to symbolise the past and a new hope. Made of aluminium wire, sisal and LED, it is simple to assemble and sustainable. We took it from sketches and technical drawings to a 3D model in Blender and a physical prototype.
Desk for Casa do Lago
A desk in moulded plywood for the 2 × 3.75 m bedrooms of Vitae's Casa do Lago. Out of three proposals, I chose a symmetrical triangular corner desk: it turns an unused corner into a work area, with drawers, side storage for each user, an open space for the legs and a storage bench.
Flat-pack Bottle Holder
A study of compliant mechanisms, objects that move and adjust through the flexibility of the material, without separate parts. Folded from a single sheet of pressed cardboard, the holder supports a 1.5 L bottle without deforming, using two triangular modules in compression and a curved cover in tension.
